Tables/seats are now available (for Riverbend members ONLY) for the Ormond Passion Play Dinner Theater scheduled on April 22 (Thursday) and April 23 (Friday). This is a solid opportunity for Riverbenders to invite family and friends for a great meal and then the clear presentation of the gospel through the musical drama called The Promise. Eight-seat tables are $200 each; individual seats are $30 each. Tickets are now available in the church office during regular office hours (9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday).

All who have
a solo voice and desire to audition for Pastor Rick Cobb, then mark your calendar: Feb. 28 (Sunday), 12:15 p.m. (after Morning Worship), Worship Center. Bring your sound track or an accompanist and come prepared to sing. If you want to be considered for any future opening on the Praise Team, please bring a praise chorus to sing.

If you want to know what really goes on at Riverbend Academy each day, perhaps you should schedule a "Warrior Walk." The "Walk" happens on selected dates at 8-9 a.m. for those who make reservations through the Academy office (615-0986). The "Walk" is scheduled on Feb. 9, Feb. 18 and Feb. 25.
Luke and Lynn Davis leave this week to begin an extended stay in Honduras as part of Riverbend’s new Above & Beyond missions emphasis there. Please pray for God’s guidance and direction as they seek to help establish a church near El Progreso. Several mission trips to assist them are being planned for Riverbenders during 2010. You may e-mail encouraging notes to them by clicking here. Keep up with their work in Honduras by frequently visiting their blog site. Click here.

All Riverbend males are invited to men's Breakfast on Thursday, Feb. 11, at 6 a.m. Costs: $3 for men, $2 for boys.
Riverbend's annual Affirmation of Faith Night, when the church leaders sign before the congregation a declaration of their adherence to that document's principles, is scheduled Wednesday, Feb. 10, during Mid-Week Worship.
A free safety inspection awaits everyone who spends ten minutes with your vehicle at Riverbend's Free Auto Safety Clinic on Saturday, Feb. 20. It happens at 9 a.m.-noon in the church parking lot. You may have all your fluids, tire pressures, belts, hoses and lights checked. Fluids will be replenished free, if needed.
March 15 is the deadline for purchasing ad space in Riverbend's printed programs for the Ormond Passion Play (late April and early May) and Celebrate America! (early July). Call Marcia Delaney for details (672-1821).

Relief

More requests for specific supplies have prompted Riverbend's Disaster Relief ministry to get involved in relief efforts. Receptacles are located at both entrances to the church to collect items you want to donate.

New needs are tents (all sizes), tarps (all sizes), shoes and flip-flops (new--fastened together), first-aid kits, antibiotics and blankets.  There is a continuing need for snack-type food (Granola bars), peanut butter, towels, washcloths, soap, shampoo, flashlights and batteries.

Those supplies are being packaged at the church on Feb. 15 and will be sent immediately thereafter to Haiti by MFI, which flies into Haiti at least twice a week. Everything given through the church is given only to missionaries on the ground for distribution to the Haitian people.

If you prefer, you may write a check to Riverbend/Haiti Relief Fund. Then the church's Disaster Relief ministry will purchase items to send.

Riverbend's first wave of relief, given by church members, included 31 boxes weighing over 1,200 pounds. Some $3,300 was also given for the purchase of supplies that were delivered on Feb. 1.
